This damn dog is running circles all around the kids in the backyard
And the sun is almost down, it's orange rays setting fire
To every leaf on every tree on this hillside that is ours
And all the birds have called it a day
In the only way a bird can call it a day
Your hair smells like silver
If silver had a smell it would be the most beautiful smell
And the wine is all drunk up and our bellies filled with luck of all
The days and nights we've spent together since the day we first met
And I wonder if this is the time of my life
This cat is standing up on the screendoor in the kitchen
And your sitting at the table with your face stuck and your wishing
There was cash enough for coffee
Or the coffee was as good as we remember
And we can not forget about the morning songs the birds sing out
And how our feet feel underneath the blankets and the old laundry
Laughing in each other faces, morning breath and intimacies
You say, "I don't want to have sex.
Push your back against my breasts
And let me wrap my arms around you.
Let me lie here and figure out
If this is the time of my life."
The Graze is easily my favorite band in Seattle. Louis O'Callahan's writing style is right up my alley, it doesn't do him justice to say but he could be Kurt Cobain and Jeff Mangum's bastard child. The Way It Is
My Seattle friends Levi and Casey are two of the most talented musicians I know. Check out this wonderful album written and recorded in one weekend... The Way It Is
Seattle upstarts thread their surging power-pop with wistful nostalgia and softly-felt despair, exuding empathy as well as energy. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 24, 2019
